Ginkgo Restaurant (Temporarily closed as of Friday, October 23, until further notice)
In compliance with the State of Illinois' current coronavirus mitigation requirements, the Ginkgo Restaurant and it's indoor seating will close starting Friday, October 23. The Ginkgo Café remains open for carry-out food and beverage service, with some items available from the Restaurant menu. "Fall Food Fest" concessions are also available in Arbor Court on weekends from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (through November 1).
Hours: The Ginkgo Restaurant is usually open from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays for indoor and outdoor dining. The restaurant is temporarily closed as of Friday, October 23, until further notice.
Entrance: Guests will enter the restaurant through the outdoor dining area, and will have the option to dine inside or outside. The restaurant will not be accessible through the Visitor Center.
Limited capacity: The capacity of all dining areas—both inside and outside—will be closely monitored. Guests will first be seated by a host, and then guests can place their order inside the restaurant.
Face masks required: All guests older than two are required to wear a face mask at all times, including while waiting in line to order and when picking up their food. Guests do not need to wear a mask when sitting down to eat.
Social distancing: All guests must social distance from others in the restaurant and when waiting in line to enter or order food. Dining tables are set 8-feet apart to ensure space for guests.
Limited menu: A modified assortment of food and beverages will be available (View menu). All food is freshly made and packaged to-go with disposable flatware. Antibacterial wipes will be included with each order. Beverages are available as individual cans or bottles; self-serve soda machines are not available. Condiments are available upon request; the self-serve condiment bar is not available.
Payments: All transactions are currently contactless. Credit cards payments are accepted. No cash can be accepted for any transactions until further notice.
Enhanced cleaning: Arboretum staff will bus and sanitize tables after each dining patron. Dish return will not be open for service.
Restrooms: The restrooms inside the Visitor Center and the West Pavilion are open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily. Restaurant guests will need to exit the Ginkgo Restaurant and enter the Visitor Center or West Pavilion through their main entrances for access to the restrooms.
Ginkgo Café and Concessions
A modified assortment of freshly made food and beverages is currently available at the Ginkgo Café and at the outdoor concession stand. Credit cards payments only; cash will not be accepted. Social distancing will be required in line. Face masks are currently required in all Arboretum buildings.
Ginkgo Café inside the Visitor Center (9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily)
- The café is offering a modified menu ranging from bakery items to salads and sandwiches. Espresso beverages and drip coffee are also available.
- Credit card payments only (cash not accepted). Social distancing is required in line.
"Fall Food Fest" inside Arbor Court (11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m, weekends from October 3 - November 1)
During the month of October, the café is hosting its annual Fall Fest, with festive seasonal concession options available on weekends, from Saturday, October 3rd, through Sunday, November 1st (inlcuding Columbus Day, Monday, October 12th). Two Fall Fest tents will be pitched and open in Arbor Court from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (weekends only). Seasonal treats on the menu will include apple cider doughnuts, Bailey's hot chocolate, hot cider, seasonal craft beer, and fall cut-out cookies, among many other favorites.
Tables and seating are not available inside the Visitor Center or in Arbor Court. Guests are welcome to picnic on the Arboretum grounds. Please plan accordingly.
