Member Admission and Timed-Entry FAQ - June 1-14

We are pleased to announce plans for the phased reopening of The Morton Arboretum grounds beginning with members-only access June 1–14. These dates will continue to be evaluated and adjusted if needed while the ongoing health situation is being monitored. Not a member? Join today.

Advance, timed-entry member passes must be reserved online to ensure paced arrivals and safe attendance levels. Passes are not required for President’s Council or Thornhill Society members. Interested in joining the President’s Council or Thornhill Society? Learn more.

This is the only method for admission, and it is a change from the Arboretum’s previous admission process. Passes will not be available at the gatehouse.

When will online reservations be available for members? Nonmembers?

The webpage for reserving timed-entry passes for members only is now available (see green button below). Please check this webpage to learn when timed-entry tickets for nonmember visitors will be available.
 

Where do I go to reserve timed-entry passes?

Can I get passes for more than one day?

Yes. At this time, passes can be reserved for one day per transaction. To book additional dates, please schedule them through individual transactions.


I am a member of the President’s Council or Thornhill Society. How will I access the Arboretum?

Members of the President’s Council and Thornhill Society do not need to reserve advance timed-entry passes. These members will be provided specific credentials to be displayed upon their arrival at the gatehouse for entry at any time. Interested in joining the President’s Council or Thornhill Society? I have a membership at another garden that participates in the American Horticultural Society reciprocal membership program. Can I use my reciprocal membership benefit for admission to the Arboretum now?

Not at this time. The Arboretum is reopening in phases and will be open for Morton Arboretum members only, beginning June 1–14. Please check this webpage to learn when timed-entry tickets for reciprocal members will be available.
 

Can nonmembers with military IDs get passes?

Not at this time. The Arboretum is reopening in phases and will be open for members only, beginning June 1–14. Please check this webpage to learn when timed-entry tickets for military visitors will be available.
 

Can I get passes using my corporate program badge?

Not at this time. The Arboretum is reopening in phases and will be open for members only from June 1–14. Please check this webpage to learn when timed-entry tickets for corporate program members will be available.
 

Do I need to arrive at the exact time on my ticket?

Timed-entry pass holders have a one-hour time window to enter, beginning at the designated entry date and time noted on the pass. Entry will not be available prior to the time on your pass, or beyond one hour after that time.
 

Can members bring guests?

Additional passes above the number of people included in the member level are not available at this time. Members may reserve timed-entry passes for up to the number of people who are included within their membership level’s admission benefit. For example, a Morton 4 level member may reserve up to four timed-entry passes. Member $5 guest passes will not be accepted from June 1–14.
 

What do I need to show at the gatehouse? Will I have to hand my phone or printed pass to the attendant?

Members will show their timed-entry pass to the gatehouse attendant, either on their phones or printed documents, with no touch entry. Members of the President's Council and Thornhill Society do not need advance passes and will be provided specific credentials to be displayed upon their arrival at the gatehouse for entry at any time. 
 

Who do I contact if I have trouble getting passes online?

For assistance, call the Arboretum ticket line at 630-725-2066 between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on any day (except holidays and days we are closed due to weather). Leave a message, and your call will be returned as soon as possible.
 

Since I wasn’t able to use my member benefits while the Arboretum was closed, will there be an extension?

All members with an active membership as of March 2020 will have their expiration dates reset to three months from the member’s original expiration date.
