Grape-leaved anemone is an old-fashioned, fast-growing, spreading perennial with coarse, seven-lobed, grape-like leaves. The fall-blooming, 2 inch wide, pale pink flowers rise above the foliage. It thrives in sun or shade.

Plant Care:

Grape-leaved anemone grows best in part shade, although will grow in sun with adequate moisture. It prefers humus-rich soil. The woody stems of grape-leaved anemone is late to emerge in spring and flowers in late summer. This plant is an aggressive spreader.

Disease, pest, and problem resistance:

There aren’t any serious pests or diseases. It is deer and rabbit resistant.

Robust grape-leaved anemone (Anemone tomentosa ‘Robustissima’):

This cultivar grows 3 to 4 feet high and 2 to 3 feet wide. Fall-blooming, mauve-pink flowers have showy yellow stamens.
