This is the weekend for crabapple viewing on the East and West Sides of The Morton Arboretum. Dozens of these beautiful ornamental trees can be seen from the driving routes. In the Rose Family Collection on the East Side, you’ll also see pears and cherries.

Pink redbuds can be seen throughout the woods on the East Side and around Lake Marmo. Along the ground are purple-blue wild geraniums and woodland phlox and yellow celandine poppy.

Around the Visitor Center and garden areas are containers full of bright flowers and interesting shrubs as well as beds of cheerful flowers. You’ll see bloooming viburnums, lilacs, fothergilla, and other shrubs.

In the gardens, look for purple periwinkle flowers, blue Siberian bugloss flowers, yellow and orange barrenwort blooms, and many other perennials.
