Yellow, strap-like flowers on witch-hazel
Now is a great time to enjoy blooming witch-hazel at the Arboretum.
April 5, 2019

Witch-hazels are in bloom all over The Morton Arboretum, with fluffy flowers in shades of yellow and red. Find them in the Ground Cover Garden near the Visitor Center, in the Witch Hazel Dell just north of Parking Lot 27, and elsewhere. Skunk cabbage is blooming near the bridge at the west end of Lake Marmo. Cornelian-cherry dogwood will soon open its yellow flowers by the Administration Building and in many other locations around the Arboretum. Check for the first blooming hellebores in the Ground Cover Garden and the Fragrance Garden, and be on the lookout for the brilliant flowers of crocuses and Siberian squill in the Maple Collection. Many other trees, shrubs, and perennials will begin to bloom over the next week or so, depending on the weather.
