  • Science of Why-3rd-4th grade

    Have you ever wondered WHY? Find out as we conduct experiments using the scientific method. Delve into why leaves change color, where rainbows come from, how fireflies glow, and other scientific mysteries at The Morton Arboretum. Monday through Friday, June 3 through 7, or July 29 through August 2, 2019, 12:30 to 3:30 p.m., or June 17 through 21, or July 22 through 26, 2019, 9:00 a.m. to noon.
  • Forest Forts-3rd-4th grade

    Design and build forts inspired by trees. Study trees up close and uncover their unique characteristics. Build a mini tree fort village as a group. Each child takes home their own mini tree fort at The Morton Arboretum. Monday through Friday, June 3 through 7; June 17 through 21; July 8 through 12; or July 22 through 26, 2019, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Slime Time-3rd-4th grade

    Stretch, squish, and squoosh some slime as you discover how plants and animals use slime, try out some recipes for slime, and put your slime to the test at ?The Morton Arboretum. Monday through Friday, June 17 through 21, or July 15 through 19, or August 5 through August 9, 2019, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • STEM Sticks and Bricks-3rd-4th grade

    Engineer your way through challenges as you learn how nature stacks up around you. Spend time exploring our latest art exhibit, Nature Connects, and build your own art from natural materials at The Morton Arboretum. Monday through Friday, June 3 through 7, or June 24 through 28, or July 22 through 26, 2019, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Outdoor Adventures-3rd-4th grade

    Get outside and explore! Set off on a different adventure each day as you explore geocaching, letterboxing, survival skills, and more at The Morton Arboretum.   • Scales to Feathers-3rd-4th grade

    What makes a snake scale tough and a feather light? Take a microscopic look at scales, feathers, shells, and more as you discover what animal adaptations are all about at the Morton arboretum. Monday through Friday, June 10 through 14, or July 15 through 19, 2019, 9:00 a.m. to noon, or June 24 through 28, or July 22 through 26, 2019, 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.
  • Adventures in Art-3rd-4th grade

    Paint, draw, color, and sculpt your way through the Arboretum. Create masterpieces daily to showcase in an end-of-the-week art show at The Morton Arboretum. Monday through Friday, June 10 through June 14, or July 8 through 12, or July 29 through August 2, 2019, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Family Twilight Adventures

    Join us for a fun-filled adventure after hours at the Arboretum to explore the night's theme with a tram ride, activities, and a hike. Select Fridays or Saturdays through September 14. Times vary.
  • Forest Forensics-5th-6th grade

    What does a tree have to say? Solve the case of the felled foliage as you examine tree rings, visit the Herbarium to view trees of the past and present, and discover the unique things trees have to tell us at The Morton Arboretum.   • Guardians of the Greenery-5th-6th grade

    Who is really in charge of defending the Earth? Explore the world of environmental science as you run experiments, explore environments, and investigate ways to save the world at The Morton Arboretum.   • Kids vs. Wild-5th-6th grade

    Can you survive in the great outdoors? Explore native woodlands and wetlands, and gain the skills needed to survive in these ecosystems at The Morton Arboretum. Monday through Friday, June 3 through 7, or June 24 through 28, or July 22 through 26, 2019, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Animal Engineers-5th-8th grade

    From intricate birds nests to astounding beaver dams, animals are engineering all around us. Take a closer look at the construction techniques used in the animal kingdom and take on wild STEM building challenges at The Morton Arboretum. Monday through Friday, July 15 through 19, or August 12 through August 16, 2019, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Eco-Challenge-5th-8th grade

    What can you accomplish when you take on an eco-challenge? Build your leadership skills as you take on team building and STEM challenges in this camp, while exploring the natural world. at The Morton Arboretum.   • Filming in the Forest-5th-8th grade

    If a picture is worth a thousand words, how many words is a video worth? Capture the movements of nature from falling leaves to crawling caterpillars and make a moving story out of the natural world at The Morton Arboretum. Monday through Friday, June 17 through 21, or July 22 through 26, 2019, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Nature Photography I-5th-8th grade

    Use your nature observation skills and get creative with digital photography. Practice composition, subject placement, close-ups, moving targets, and more at The Morton Arboretum. Monday through Friday, June 3 through 7, 2019, or July 15 through 19, 2019, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Help Wanted-5th-8th grade

    What does it take to make an Arboretum run? Take a behind the scenes look at careers at the Arboretum and experience what it takes to become a Champion of Trees at The Morton Arboretum. Monday through Friday, July 8 through 12, or July 29 through August 2, 2019, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Nature Photography II-5th-8th grade

    Capture nature from a new angle! Take the time to play with mirrors, water, shadows, and light in this photography class at The Morton Arboretum. Participants must bring their own digital camera Monday through Friday, June 17 through 21, or August 5 through 9, 2019, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
