Paddle a section of the Kankakee River, a National Water Trail noted for its scenic beauty and water quality, and learn the natural history of this unique area. Saturday, August 3, 2019, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Each day we will hike, read stories, and play in this 4–week sensory based outdoor adventure. Adults will also receive tips to continue exploration at home! Four Tuesdays, September 3 through 24, 2019, 9:30 to 10:45 a.m.
Trident Maples make excellent bonsai due to their small, three-lobed leaves with thick gnarly roots and a readily thickening trunk. The focus on of this workshop at The Morton Arboretum will be on styling and wiring the tree. Saturday Aug 3, 2019, 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The Green Island Ficus is a great tropical tree for beginners. The deep green glossy leaves look similar to a jade plant. The goal of this class at The Morton Arboretum is to come away with a tree that has its first initial styling and is on its’ way to becoming a bonsai.Saturday August, 3, 2019, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.
This workshop features a selection of field grown Cork Bark Chinese Elm trees. This workshop at The Morton Arboretum will explore the many different possibilities of Chuhin bonsai. Sunday August 4, 2019, 9:00 a.m. to noon.
Dwarf Hinoki Cypress or False Cypress is native to Japan. This evergreen conifer displays flattened, fan like foliage and a trunk that develops an attractive shredding reddish-brown bark with age.
The Brazilian Rain Tree is a beautiful tropical tree. The bark is very smooth and tends to exfoliate creating multi-colored shades in the trunk. The primary focus of this workshop at The Morton Arboretum will be on styling the tree both with wire and branch selection. Sunday August 4, 2019, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Try out this sampler session of aerial yoga. Stretch, strengthen, and release stress while having fun, cocooned in a hammock suspended from the trees at The Morton Arboretum! Wednesday, June 5 or 19, or Monday, June 17 or 24, 2019, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Weekly in July and August, Mondays, 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., or Fridays, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
