Course List

  • Learn how to identify Illinois' spring resident and migratory birds by sight and call and meet other birders at The Morton Arboretum. Five Saturdays, April 27 through June 1 (no class on May 18), 2019, 8:00 to 11:30 a.m.
  • In this focused workshop, enjoy the spring warbler migration while learning about identification, arrival dates, migration patterns, habitat preferences, and daily feeding techniques at The Morton Arboretum. Three days: Wednesday, May 1, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., and Fridays, May 3 and 10, 2019, 8:00 to 11:30 a.m.
  • Become acquainted with the host of birds that nest and breed in our region. Four Saturdays, June 8 through 29, 2019, 8:00 to 11:00 a.m.
  • Make an attractive, one-of-a-kind bird house using mid-century lumber reclaimed from Chicago buildings. In this hands-on workshop, you will:

  • Search the woods, fields, and edges of the Arboretum for birds. The third Saturday of each month, November 17, 2018 through June 15, 2019, 8:00 to 10:30 a.m.
  • Learn to identify the endangered rusty patched bumblebee so you can participate in a bee blitz on Schulenberg Prairie. Wednesday, June 19, 2019, 12:30 to 3:30 p.m., and Bee Blitz on Saturday, June 22, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
