  • Nature Merit Badge

    Explore The Morton Arboretum’s unique flora and fauna and discover why some species need to be protected. (CANCELED) Three days: Tuesday April 9 through Thursday, April 11, 2019, 6:00 to 8:30 p.m.
  • Little Acorns (18-35 months)

    Young explorers will hike, play, listen to stories, and engage in science and art in these hands-on sensory-based programs at The Morton Arboretum. Select Weekdays starting June 4 through August 20, 2019, 9:30 to 10:45 a.m.

  • Hiking Merit Badge

    Let miles of walking trails at The Morton Arboretum roll beneath your feet as you experience and discover the wonders of nature and earn your Hiking Merit Badge. Two Sundays, May 5, 2019, 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and September 8, 2019, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

    Join us for this four-week outdoor adventure in the garden. Each day we will play, hike, read stories, and make a nature-related craft at The Morton Arboretum.     How much do you know about your national government? In this merit badge class, held at The Morton Arboretum, explore the three branches of our national government. (SOLD OUT) Two Wednesdays, May 22 and June 19, 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

    Some animals dig, some fly, and some swim! Join this adventure in animal movements as we explore how animals move around the Arboretum. Monday through Friday, June 17 through 21, or July 22 through 26, 2019, 9:00 a.m. to noon.
  • Growing up Green- Pre-Kindergarten

    How do animals and plants grow up with roots, scales, or tails? Dive into the life cycles of green creatures around the Arboretum and see them up close! Monday through Friday, June 24 through 28, or July 29 through Aug 2, 2019, 9:00 a.m. to noon, or July 29 through Aug 2, 2019, 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.
  • Painting with Plants- Pre-Kindergarten

    Explore your artistic roots! Touch, explore, play, and paint with all the parts of a plant and discover what each part does at the Morton Arboretum. Monday through Friday, July 8 through 12, or August 5 through 9, 2019, 9:00 a.m. to noon, or July 8 through 12, 2019, 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.
  • Dinos, Ginkgos, and Me-Kindergarten

    Travel back to the dinosaur age! Discover different dinosaurs; learn what they ate, where they lived, and the trees that grew when dinosaurs were alive at the Morton arboretum. Monday through Friday, June 17 through 21, or August 5 through 9, 2019, 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. or July 15 through July 19, 2019, 9:00 a.m. to noon.
  • Fishing Fun-Kindergarten

    Get ready for some boot-sloshin’ fun! Go fishing at the Arboretum. Play games, make crafts, and read stories about fish at The Morton Arboretum. Monday through Friday, June 10 through June 14, or July 15 through July 19,2019, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Leaf Zoo-Kindergarten

    Leaves come in all shapes, sizes, and colors! Let your imagination run wild as you discover what you can create with leaves at The Morton Arboretum. Monday through Friday, June 17 through June 21, or August 5 through Aug 9, 2019, 9:00 a.m. to noon.
  • Squishy Squashy Art-kindergarten

    Put on your artist hat. Paint and sculpt squishy frogs, textured turtles, and slippery fish.Learn about these wetland critters and develop artistic skill at The Morton Arboretum. Monday through Friday, June 24 through 28, or Aug 12 through Aug 16, 2019, 9:00 a.m. to noon, or July 22 through 26, 2019, 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.
  • Mud Buddies-Kindergarten

    Build, play, dig, and discover all the things that love mud! Take time to explore life underground and what it takes to make a home in the mud, while playing muddy games, doing muddy crafts, and becoming a muddy scientist at The Morton Arboretum. Monday through Friday, June 10 through June 14, or, July 29 through Aug 2, 2019, 9:00 a.m. to noon, or July 8 through July 12, 2019, 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.
  • Turtles and Tadpoles-Kindergarten

    How do tadpoles turn into frogs? How do turtles grow up? Together we’ll uncover fun facts, search for croaking frogs and basking turtles, play games, make crafts, and meet live turtles at The Morton Arboretum.   • Where the Wild Things Are-Kindergarten

    Where are the wild things hiding in the Arboretum? Hunt for wildlife as you explore the woodlands and discover the animals that live within.   • Eric Carle’s Friends-kindergarten

    Have you ever been as hungry as a caterpillar? Enter the whimsical world of Eric Carle as his characters come to life through stories, games, and crafts at The Morton Arboretum. Monday through Friday, June 3 through 7, or July 22 through 26, 2019 9:00 a.m. to noon.
  • Nature’s Lab-1st-2nd grade

    Explore nature through the eyes of a scientist. Catapult seeds, make sun prints, and experiment with leaves as you use the outdoors as your laboratory at The Morton Arboretum! Monday through Friday, June 3 through June 7, or June 17 through June 21, or July 22 through July 26, 2019, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Nature’s Super Heroes-1st-2nd grade

    How strong is a spider’s web? How do bats hunt? How fast is a hummingbird? Use your knowledge of nature’s super powers to create your own superhero, play games, and look at real animal “powers” close up at the Morton Arboretum. Monday through Friday, June 10 through June 14, or July 29 through Aug 2, 2019, 12:30 to 3:30 p.m., or July 8 through July 12, 2019, 9:00 a.m. to noon
  • STEM Sticks and Bricks-1st-2nd grade

    Engineer your way through challenges as you learn how nature stacks up around you. Spend time exploring our latest art exhibit, Nature Connects, and build your own art from natural materials at The Morton Arboretum.   • Wings and Things-1st-2nd grade

    What would it take to be a bird? Soar into the fascinating life of birds as you listen for bird calls, scout out nests, and make a bird feeder to attract your own backyard birds at The Morton Arboretum.
