Emily is primarily focused on using genetic methods to identify characteristics of conservation seed sources. During her master’s degree, she determined that restoration seed stocks collected by the Bureau of Land Management were genetically diverse enough to establish healthy restoration populations. She has now joined Sean’s lab to further identify if conservation seed stocks are accurately representing the genetic characteristics of wild populations and to further explore causes of species differentiation in rare oak taxa.
