Course description

Focus on your wellness with help from The Morton Arboretum. Join us for a week of online wellness programs. Take time out for your mental and emotional wellbeing with a series of online offerings for mind and body. Through twice-daily wellness sessions, connect with nearby nature, with each other, and with yourself. Explore meditation, yoga, forest therapy, nutrition, self-care and more. Sign up for individual sessions, or treat yourself and register for the entire suite of offerings for a bundled rate.

9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Arboretum Yoga 
Maintain your health and well-being with yoga from the comfort of your home with a live online session. Practice poses, breathing and meditation to help ground us. (WELL050-U, $7/$10)

11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Nature Journaling Workshop 
Explore how writing can lead you to gratitude and reflection and deepen connections to yourself and the natural world. In this workshop, you will discover the benefits of writing in a daily journal, get tips for developing the habit of writing, and try out simple prompts to get you on your way. (WELL095, $7)

Tuesday, June 2

Forest Therapy Backyard Session 
Experience the healing and wellness-promoting effects of Shinrin-Yoku, the practice of bathing the senses in the atmosphere of the forest. Awaken your senses and reconnect with nature from your backyard, balcony, or even your window. Using your smartphone, tablet, or laptop, your guide will lead you through awareness invitations that will help you to slow down, pay attention, and sense your surroundings.  (WELL029-A, $7)

Food and Mood 

Find yourself stress eating? Food plays an important role in your physical, mental, and emotional wellness. In this webinar, learn how healthy eating can boost your mood naturally and improve your health. Learn the science behind how and why certain foods impact your mood. Get simple recipes you can make at home, and hear tips to avoid turning to food for stress relief. (WELL096, $16)

Wednesday, June 3

Live Sound Meditation
Join us for an experience in sound.  Find a comfortable seat, close your eyes, and allow the crystal singing bowls to interact with your body.  Our intention with this meditation is to support you in achieving a state of deep relaxation.  No skills, abilities, or beliefs are required to receive the benefits. 11:00 a.m to noon
Self-Care Techniques 
Decrease stress and increase your overall sense of well being through three simple self-care techniques. In this workshop, discover practices that can be practiced anywhere, anytime. Learn how to build an exercise routine to strengthen heart virtues such as gratitude, appreciation, and kindness. Increasing these attitudes naturally balances the mental, physical and emotional systems, positively influencing those around you. Try earthing, or connecting to the earth using bare feet, a practice that can reduce stress, pain, fatigue, and promote many other health benefits. DIY Organic Skincare
Learn the basics of creating organic skincare remedies at home. Your skin, your largest organ, is the barrier for your body against pathogens, dirt, and foreign objects. It is also incredibly absorbent, so what you put ON your body is just as important as what you put in it! Learn how different natural ingredients can improve your skin and get simple recipes you can mix up at home.  (WELL099, $16)
