Spend an exciting day with professional photographer Ian Plant! During this comprehensive classroom seminar, Ian will share the techniques and stories behind some of his favorite photos from around the world. He'll cover a range of topics, discuss artistic design principles, present field and digital darkroom techniques, and provide hands-on technical demonstrations. Throughout the day, Ian will present a variety of topics, including the following:
The Creative Photograph
In this inspiring opening presentation, Ian will share some of his favorite techniques for creating artistic photographs that challenge perceptions. You’ll learn about composition, the use of light, telling a story with your photos, and capturing the magic of the moment.
Extreme Perspective Photography
In this session, Ian will lead an in-depth discussion about using wide-angles lenses to create extreme, mind-bending compositions. He’ll also discuss achieving a “deep focus” effect using focus stacking, including demonstration of both field and digital darkroom techniques.
The Creative Use of Flash for Outdoor Photography
One of Ian’s favorite creative techniques is to use flash for nature and travel photography. This session will tackle the best techniques for using flash outdoors, including a live demonstration of field flash techniques, and optimal settings for taking flash photographs.
Creative Composition Techniques
Ian will discuss important artistic design principles that can help you take your photos to the next level. He’ll also share digital darkroom secrets for making subtle enhancements to your compositions.
