Course description

Learn spring methods for propagating your favorite native plants. Learn how to bring seeds out of stratification, plant in seed trays and transplant seedlings. Practice making hardwood cuttings, dividing plants, and starting new plants from suckers.

Instructor

Jeff Weiss, president, Living Lands Conservation Company

Jeff Weiss is a restoration ecologist who works in Illinois, Wisconsin and Iowa as a volunteer and professional.  He teaches ecological restoration and horticulture at College of Lake County and The Morton Arboretum.  He founded and leads the Buffalo Grove Environmental Action Team and the Buffalo Creek Clean Water Partnership.  He received his MS in Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign in 2014, and is president of Living Lands Conservation Company.
