Course description

Learn to sculpt and create charming pumpkin and gourd pendants you can wear this fall. Instructor Karen Johnson will teach students how to work with polymer clay, a versatile medium with endless possibilities. Learn to condition and layer the clay with colors and inclusions and sculpt a three-dimensional piece of art. Pieces will be cured off site and then finished in the second class meeting. A brass chain is included in the price of the program.

Karen Johnson, nature artist

Karen Johnson is a member of the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators and the Nature Artists Guild.  She has degrees in Scientific Illustration and Entomology and has been teaching at the Arboretum since 1999.  She enjoys sketching with friends and exploring new media and ways to depict her favorite subjects.
