Course description

The debates surrounding our food and the role science will play in navigating global food challenges have been notable for the polarizing perceptions and misperceptions that have surrounded the conversation.  The documentary FOOD EVOLUTION, from Academy Award®-nominated director Scott Hamilton Kennedy (The Garden, Fame High, OT: Our Town), explores the controversy surrounding GMOs and food. Traveling from Hawaiian papaya groves to banana farms in Uganda to the cornfields of Iowa, the film, narrated by noted science communicator Neil deGrasse Tyson, wrestles with the emotions and the science driving one of the most heated arguments of our time.

At this educational evening, please join the the College of DuPage Horticulture Department and The Morton Arboretum for a screening of the movie, followed by a discussion with local experts.
