Learn to identify dragonflies and damselflies on the grounds of the Arboretum. Join dragonfly monitor and naturalist Cindy Crosby to learn about the natural history, diversity, habitat, and behaviors of these astonishing, colorful insects. Begin in the classroom, head outdoors to explore the grounds. See how many species you can locate and identify.
Cindy Crosby is the author, compiler or contributor to more than 20 books, including "The Tallgrass Prairie: An Introduction (Northwestern University Press, 2017) and the forthcoming "Tallgrass Conversations: In Search of the Prairie Spirit" (with Thomas Dean, 2019) . She is a prairie steward supervisor, a dragonfly monitor, a certified interpretive trainer with NAI, and a naturalist.
Note: Held indoors and outdoors. Expect to walk less than a mile over uneven terrain. Portable stools available to borrow. Limit 18
