Course Description

Get outdoors with your family or friends this summer! New to camping? No problem. This class will teach you everything you need to know to have a fun and safe weekend under the stars. You will learn:

  • how to choose a great campsite, including recommended campgrounds in the area
  • what to pack
  • where (and how!) to pitch your tent
  • how to build a fire
  • camp cooking
  • basic outdoor safety
  • great camping activities that are fun for all ages

Jeanette Joy

Jeanette Joy is a Certified Naturalist and Field Studies instructor. She grew up loving nature and now loves to share it with others. She enjoys doing programs for all ages, from the very young to the young at heart. She likes to explore new places and also finds joy in the discoveries that can be found in our own backyard.

Course Details

Notes: Held outdoors. Bring insect repellent and sunscreen, and dress for the weather. Children ages 12-16 permitted with an adult. Limit 20
