Family summer fun at The Morton Arboretum

The Visitor Center is your gateway to the Arboretum. Visitor Services staff are happy to answer any questions you have about your visit. Tickets for tram tours and many special events can be purchased here. More detailed calendars, brochures, and informational handouts are also available. For specific questions, please call Visitor Services at 630-968-0074. 
 

Admission

April through November

$14 Adults ages 18–64
$12 Seniors ages 65+  
$9 Youth ages 2–17  

December through March AND every Wednesday

$9 Adults ages 18–64
$8 Seniors ages 65+  
$6 Youth ages 2–17 

Children 1 and younger are free

Admission includes FREE parking. Members always enter for free with valid membership credentials. 

The Morton Arboretum offers free general daily admission year-round to active-duty service men or women with a valid ID.

Please leave pets at home.

Want to save a little time at the gatehouse? Pre-Purchase General Admission

(General Admission only; discounted Wednesday admission not available online.) 

Ticket purchasers will receive an email from registeronline@mortonarb.org with a pdf receipt and a pdf containing the tickets. Each ticket purchased will be on a separate page. Each of those ticket barcodes needs to be presented for entry. Tickets can be printed, or they can be displayed on a phone for barcode scanning. Tickets are valid for a year after their purchase date.

The Arboretum is open 365 days a year! 
The grounds open at 7:00 a.m. year-round and close at sunset

Visitor Center

January through February: Daily, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
March and April: Daily, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
May through October: Daily, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
November and December: Daily, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Closed Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day; closed at 3:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

Restrooms in the West Pavilion of the Visitor Center are open daily from 7:00 a.m. to sunset.
 

Children's Garden

March through October: Daily, 9:30 a.m to 5:00 p.m. (6:00 p.m. on Thursdays)
Member-only access, Fridays and Saturdays, 9:00 to 9:30 a.m.

November through February: Daily, 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

June through August: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Severe weather may close the Children's Garden temporarily.
Closed Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day; closed at 3:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve.


Maze Garden

Daily, 9:30 a.m. to sunset


The Arboretum Store

January and February: Daily, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
March and April: Daily, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
May through October: Daily, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
November and December: Daily, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The Arboretum Store is closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. On Christmas Eve the store closes at 3:00 p.m.
 

Plant Clinic

April through October: Monday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
November through March: Monday through Friday, 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Closed Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day.


Ginkgo Restaurant

Daily, 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Saturdays and Sundays, additional breakfast hours 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.
Closed Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
 

Ginkgo Café

November through February: Daily, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
March and April: Daily, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
May through October: Daily, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Closed Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day; on Christmas Eve the cafe closes at 3:00 p.m.


Sterling Morton Library

Tuesday through Friday: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Saturday: 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Closed July 4, Thanksgiving Day, the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day.

 

Founder's Room

(Located at Thornhill Education Center)
Monday through Friday: 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
