Cultural Requirements: Prefers evenly moist, well-drained, humus-rich soil in full sun or partial shade; soil pH adaptable; may need winter protection in cold climates to protect flower buds.

Ornamental Characteristics: Green foliage with white variegated edges; large flattened flower clusters are violet-blue (acid soil) or violet-pink (alkaline soil) and appear from mid to late summer.

Landscape Uses: woodland gardens, specimen, mixed borders.
