Height: 30-50' Spread 25-30' Habit/Form: Pyramidal Growth Rate: Slow to medium Zone: 4-9

Cultural Requirements: Found naturally growing on above streams slopes Best in full sun; in moist, well-drained soils; prefers slightly acidic soil, can develop chlorotic (yellowing) leaves in high pH soils; spring transplant; tolerant of dry soil once established; salt tolerant.

Ornamental Characteristics: Native to the Midwest; distinct horizontal branching; dark leathery green foliage changes to a brilliant red and orange in fall; small dark purple fruit on female trees only.

Use in the Landscape: Specimen tree; natural areas; street tree in residential areas

Aerial Salt Tolerance: Moderate degree of salt tolerance; use in low salt areas
