Ivory Silk Tree Lilac
Flower

Height: 20-25' Spread: 15-25' Habit/Form: Oval Growth Rate: Medium Zone: 3-7

Cultural Requirements: Best flowering occurs in full sun, but tolerant of part shade. Grow in loose, well-drained soils, pH adaptable. Once plants are established they are fairly heat and drought tolerant. Typical of all lilacs, prune after blooming for best flowering the following year.

Ornamental Characteristics: A compact, rounded, dense tree with large, 8-10-inch, creamy-white, fragrant flowers in late June or early July. Attractive reddish-brown bark reminiscent of cherry trees.

Uses in the Landscape: Tree lilacs are dependable urban trees, including as parking lot or boulevard plantings, which tolerate a wide range of conditions. Large flowers in early summer, attractive bark, and persistent inflorescence create multiple seasons of interest.
