Cultural Requirements: Highly adaptable tree can be easily grown in all but the most difficult of locales, but best in full sun or part shade in well-drained soil.
Ornamental Characteristics: Strong, horizontal branching habit with very few thorns. Dense clusters of showy, white flowers in mid-May. Bright red fruits persist into winter and attract birds. Mottled, multi-colored bark improves with age.
Uses in the Landscape: One of the best hawthorns for small landscapes. Use as a stand-alone specimen or at the back of the garden where branches have room to expand.
