Height: 40-70' Spread: 45-50' Habit/Form: Oval to irregular, rounded crown Growth Rate: Fast Zone: 4-8
Cultural Requirements: Prefers full sun. Easily grown in a wide range of soil conditions except extremely dry locations; pH adaptable.
Ornamental Characteristics: This hybrid is a cross between a red and silver maple, with the fast growing characteristics of the silver maple and the stonger branch attachment of the red maple. The bark is a distinctly silver-gray. Trees have outstanding red-orange fall color. There are many cultivars available.
Uses in the Landscape: Excellent for parkway plantings or as a large shade tree. It has less susceptibility to chlorosis symptoms (yellowing leaves) than red or silver maples.
