Ornamental Characteristics: Stately tree with massive trunk, dark gray to brown furrowed trunk; lustrous dark green leaves turn yellow brown in fall; large fringed cap acorns.

Use in the Landscape: Large specimen tree for parks and large areas.

Aerial Salt Tolerance: Moderate degree of salt tolerance; use in low exposed areas.
