Rosa glauca at The Morton Arboretum

Height:
5-7' Spread: 4-6' Habit/Form: Upright arching, spreading and eventually rounded Growth Rate: Medium Zone: 3

Cultural Requirements: Best in full sun with moist, well-drained soil. Plants are very adaptable to different soil types, but avoid extremely wet conditions.

Ornamental Characteristics: The outstanding features are the stems and leaves with beautiful reddish-purple color. Small, single 1 to 2-inch pink flowers bloom in late May to early June, and last for several weeks. Flower centers are tinged white with showy yellow stamens. The fruits mature to a dark reddish-orange hip and attracts birds. Stems are arching and almost thornless. Grown on own roots. Requires very little pruning. Good disease resistance.

Uses in the Landscape: Use in the shrub border, as a specimen, or in mass for best effect.
