Cultural Requirements: Best in full sun to filtered light in well-drained, lightly organic soil. Soil must drain freely, not tolerant of standing or wet soil. Plants are quite tolerant of windy locations. Regular pruning required for best performance. Often short-lived, but flowers make it worth growing.
Ornamental Characteristics: The double-flowered, rich pink flowers bloom in mid-April. Branches cut in early spring can be forced. Foliage is medium green in summer and turns a yellow gold in fall.
Uses in the Landscape: Use for an accent of early spring flowers in shrub border or in groups.
