Library Events
The Sterling Morton Library hosts exhibits, a book group, classes, and tours throughout the year. Please visit us often, and check the Education Program and the Seasons Quarterly for listings of our events.
Exhibits
The Library presents two exhibits a year featuring works from our diverse collections. Rare books, original artwork, photographs and other resources combine to explore a specific topic or theme. Past exhibits have featured a host of resources on oaks, mazes and Besler's Garden of Eichstatt.
Leafing Through The Pages:
Member-only Book Discussion Group
Founded in 2003, the Library's book discussion group seeks to create community, conversation and engagement. Meeting on the second Thursday of each month in the Library, the group reads works of fiction and non-fiction relating to natural history, ecology and gardens. Join us and share in the dialogue!
Classes
Classes focusing on services and specific aspects of the collections are periodically offered through the Arboretum's Education program. Don't see a class listed in the upcoming quarterly schedule? Contact the Library staff and let us know what you are interested in!
Tours
Informal tours of the Library's facilities and collections are available on an as needed basis depending on staff availability. Prefer a more formal tour or presentation? Please contact one of our Library staff to arrange for a special tour or presentation.
