Genetics and diversity of trees and plants, from populations to clades

Plant diversity influences quality of life and the functioning of ecosystems. Understanding tree and plant diversity at a wide range of ecological scales requires an understanding of genetic diversity, taxonomic diversity, and the diversity of plant form and function. A better understanding of the sources of plant diversity informs efforts to increase biodiversity in urban areas and maintain healthy plant communities in the wild.
