School Groups

BRING YOUR STUDENTS' SCIENCE LEARNING TO LIFE.


Pique your students’ curiosity about trees and nature in inquiry-based programs designed to meet your specific grade-level science curriculum needs and state and national standards.  Master educators guide your students through rich and engaging learning experiences and build lasting impressions of science and nature.

  • Venture on an outdoor field trip. Trek through the Arboretum with your students and a master guide to learn firsthand about environmental science. Our guides use expert teaching techniques and deep science knowledge to make outdoor science fun and engaging.
    Available for grades PreK-12 in spring and fall school seasons.

  • Extend the experience with a guided lab. Investigate nature up close with your students, using microscopes or other scientific instruments. Labs are designed to extend Scientific inquiry and to make connections with outdoor discoveries.
    Available for grades 3-12 in spring and fall school seasons for some programs.

  • Set out on a self-guided adventure. Conduct your own lesson plans among our woodlands, marshes, lakes, and prairie. Staff provide you with suggested itineraries, learning tools, and a variety of excursions to choose from.
    Available for grades PreK-12 all year long.

  • Invite the Arboretum to your school this winter. Have an Arboretum master educator lead scientific inquiry and hands-on learning activities in your school classroom.
    Available for grades PreK-5 in the winter school season.


Registration forms are now available for 2011/2012 Winter Classroom Visits. Programs run December 5 -March 30.  Please click on the Classroom Visits link below for more details and registration forms.

Registration for spring 2012 programs is now available online.  Programs run April 2 - June 8.  Click on the grade level links below to access the correct registration form.  Please note: Due to Arbor Day festivities at the Arboretum, we do not have availability for school programs on April 27.
