Volunteer Opportunities

VolunteerVolunteer opportunities at the Arboretum are divided into categories to make it easy to select the best area for you to make a contribution. See if you don’t agree: Horticulture, Monitoring, Natural Areas, Research, Special Events, Visitor Services, Other Areas, Internships.

Please note, many areas are limited to a maximum number of Volunteers. Volunteer positions may not be currently available. View our current list of available opportunities.

While most volunteers are over the age of 21, there are several options for teens:

  • Teens age 16 and older who assist with weekend and special events programs year-around
  • High school and college service groups that assist with weekend special events year-around
  • Eagle Scout and Gold Award candidates and their troops
  • The Macgyvers Children's Garden youth volunteers
