This winter, The Morton Arboretum’s landscape will be transformed into an interactive kaleidoscope of color and light during our first-ever winter lights event, Illumination: Tree Lights at The Morton Arboretum. From November 22 through January 4, you can experience a holiday event far beyond traditional twinkling lights, one that engages your senses with dazzling projections, trees that respond to touch and sound, and vivid, electric colors throughout. You’ll also be able to explore the Arboretum after dark as the event starts at 4:30 p.m. each night with last entry at 8:30 p.m.
As you walk along the mile-long paved trail winding around Meadow Lake and down the Conifer Walk, you’ll encounter surprising light experiences around every turn, including hugging a tree to make it glow brighter, singing to trees and watching them change color, interacting with light and color with just a swipe of your hand, and much more. You can also warm up next to fire pits while enjoying hot cocoa, s’mores, and other tasty treats. During your visit, don’t forget to stop by the Enchanted Railroad and browse the holiday wares at The Arboretum Store.
Illumination tickets are now on sale and can be purchased here, by calling 630-725-2066, or at the Visitor Center Information Desk. General Admission tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children (ages 2-17). Member tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children. There is a maximum capacity for each night of the event, so be sure to buy your tickets early to make sure you and your family don’t miss out on the fun. Illumination: Tree Lights at The Morton Arboretum will be closed November 28 and December 2, 9, 16, 24, and 25.
Illumination is presented in part by ComEd and BMO Harris Bank. The Enchanted Railroad is brought to you by HUB Group, Presenting Sponsor, and JPMorgan Chase, Contributing Sponsor.
