VISIT & explore

LISLE, IL (June 3, 2013) – This Father’s Day, treat Dad and family to a southern BBQ and live music at The Morton Arboretum.
On Sunday, June 16 from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., come dine on baby back ribs, beef brisket, pulled pork and roasted chicken plus some traditional southern sides. Cold beer, featuring Two Brothers brewery, will be available as well as soft drinks.
White Saddle Band will perform from noon to 3 p.m. A favorite at the Arboretum, White Saddle Band is known for their unique blend of American classics, including rock and roll, country, R&B and blues. The band will be playing covers of every father’s favorite music, such as Elvis, Hank Williams, Tom Petty, Jimmy Buffet and many more.
Then, take Dad to explore the David Rogers' Big Bugs and Tree House Tales exhibitions, take a bike ride or hike the Arboretum’s 1,700 acres. Bike rentals will be available.
The BBQ lunch and beverages are priced a la carte; entertainment is free with Arboretum admission. No reservations are required, so first come, first served.
“What better way to honor dad than by spending time with the family in the great outdoors, with some great food and music,” says Anna Cosner, head of visitor services. “The Father’s Day BBQ will have a laid-back atmosphere, giving families the chance to set their own agendas for the day.”
The Father’s Day BBQ at The Morton Arboretum is sponsored by Subaru.
