Artist Kevin Box’s connection with design and paper began as a young man. As a student of graphic design at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, Box journeyed to Greece where he saw some of the world’s greatest antiquities. The experience forever changed him, and led him away from graphic design to a new passion of sculpture and art in public places. Through apprenticeships, Box became proficient in metal casting, learning the skills necessary to create durable works of art. His unique style marries paper with the age-old tradition of bronze casting.
Box’s sculptures have received recognition from artists and collectors alike. In 2004, he was elected as the youngest member of the National Sculptors’ Guild and was recognized by Southwest Art Magazine as one of the top 21 artists under 31 in the southwest.
Working alongside his wife, Jennifer Box, Kevin Box debuted Origami in the Garden at the Santa Fe Botanical Garden in 2014. Additionally, the artist’s work is represented in 12 galleries, three museums and more than 20 public art collections around the world. The Kevin Box Studio is located in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
