How to read a plant label

The Arboretum grounds are divided into quadrants (see the  The Morton Arboretum Plant Collections map). Letters indicate the grid lines running from south to north, while numbers indicate those from west to east. To find a plant on the grounds, first consult the plant collections catalog for its scientific name and grid lcoations.

LISLE, Ill. (April 17, 2014) — Each year, The Morton Arboretum’s grounds erupt with fragrant blooming flowers and woody plants. Ed Hedborn, Manager of Plant Records, monitors and reports on the Arboretum’s blooms each week during the spring season. Spring plant sales

Get the garden of your dreams with trees, shrubs, perennials and edible plants sold through The Morton Arboretum Members' Exclusive Plant Catalog Sale and Arbor Day Plant Sale. Arboretum members will receive the Members' Exclusive Plant Sale catalog by mail in January; advance ordering begins February 3, and plants are picked up on Arbor Day weekend. For more great plants, plan to shop the Arbor Day Plant Sale, open to members and the public, at the Arboretum April 24 through 26, 2015. Every plant you purchase at these sales supports The Morton Arboretum’s goal to encourage the planting and conservation of trees and other plants for a greener, healthier, and more beautiful world.

JANUARY-FEBRUARY 2014 CALENDAR OF EVENTS

LISLE, Ill. (December 27, 2013)—Celebrate this winter at The Morton Arboretum!  This season, embrace the chill and head outdoors to visit Husky Heroes, The Morton Arboretum’s own Siberian husky demonstrations. Or in February, celebrate chocolate with your family, friends or your valentine at one of several chocolate-themed events. Choose from a chocolate truffle-making party, our Chocolate Expo and Market or a special presentation on February 15 about Chicago’s storied candy history with historian and author of “Chicago’s Sweet Candy History,” Leslie Goddard.

THE MORTON ARBORETUM LAUNCHES ONLINE STORE

LISLE, Ill. (December 26, 2013)—The Arboretum Store at The Morton Arboretum is known by its fans as a top place to find unique, nature-themed gifts. Today, the Arboretum has launched an online store, with a wide selection of some of the store’s top gifts, many exclusive to the Arboretum. The online store features a wide selection of products for all ages, from children’s games and toys to desktop items, to beautiful pieces for the home.
