FALL COLOR REPORT FROM THE MORTON ARBORETUM, OCTOBER 16 THROUGH 22, 2014

This week, fall color has come in force to The Morton Arboretum, even though our weather has been cool and wet. Visitors in the coming two weeks, including this weekend’s Glass Pumpkin Patch, will see some of the best color of our season. The warm, bright sunny days and cool nights we had earlier have brightened our landscape. More color is showing in our collections this week, especially in the Maple Collection and in our natural areas in the East Woods; around Lake Marmo and Sterling Pond; and in our Schulenberg Prairie. Sugar maples especially are showing rich hues of orange and red.
