This summer, The Morton Arboretum is investing in a new building (to support education efforts) under construction near the Thornhill Shelter Picnic Area. Camp programming will not be interrupted as a result of this project. Learn more


Summer Science Camp

We’re building the next generation of conservation and environmental scientists, outdoor enthusiasts…and tree huggers.


Unlock your child's imagination with interactive adventures in the great outdoors all summer long. Through science experiments, art, and creative play, The Morton Arboretum's exciting camps will inspire your child to become a champion of trees.

With more than 100 camps for children in kindergarten through eighth grade, Summer Science Camp at The Morton Arboretum will stimulate their senses and unlock their imagination.

Counselor In Training (CIT) program

For ages 14-16.

Love nature and working with children? Join our Counselor in Training (CIT) program! Spend one week attending camp learning about the Arboretum, trees, nature interpretation, and stages of child development. Then join Summer Science Camp staff as a volunteer camp assistant. Volunteer hours may be used towards service-learning requirements. Deadline for 2017 applications is April 30th, 2017.
