  • Become a nature photographer. Move beyond shooting in automatic; learn how to adjust your camera’s manual settings to get the shot you want at The Morton Arboretum. Four Saturdays, October 27 through November 17, 8:00 to 11:00 a.m.
  • Learn to make striking prints using botanical elements, and take home one-of-a-kind, fall-inspired work of art at The Morton Arboretum. Sunday, October 28, 2018, 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Learn to creatively use light in your photography. Improve your results by considering the quantity, color, and quality of light found during the course of the day and throughout the seasons at The Morton Arboretum. Four days: three Thursdays, November 1, 8, and 15, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. and Saturday, November 3, 2018, 8:00 to 11:00 a.m.
  • Tap into your creative side with an introductory workshop on nature art at The Morton Arboretum. Fall Leaves in Watercolor; Saturday, November 3, or Sunday, November 4, 2018, 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • Learn to capture the textures and color of fall. Work with graphite to build form and texture, then learn to use watercolor to add a punch of color at The Morton Arboretum. Four Tuesdays, November 6 through 27, 2018, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
  • Produce high quality, exhibit-worthy photographs with your smartphone at The Morton Arboretum. Saturday, November 10, 2018, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
  • Michael R. Jeffords and Susan L. Post have circled the globe--and explored their own neighborhood-- collecting strange and beautiful curiosities from across the natural world. Join them for an evening lecture in which they open their personal cabinet of curiosities and share stories of their most unusual encounters with nature at The Morton Arboretum. Thursday, November 15, 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.
  • Make personalized notecards using watercolor (Section A) or gelli prints (Section B) at The Morton Arboretum. Saturday, November 17, 2018, 9:00 a.m. to noon (watercolor) or 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. (gelli prints)
  • In linoleum block printing, a reduction print is a multicolored print created from a single block. Carrie will break down the process, teach how to plan the layers in an image, and share some tricks for registering the paper with ease at The Morton Arboretum. Two days: Saturday, December 1, through Sunday, December 2, 2018, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • Remember, “the best camera is the one that’s with you.” Whether you are new to photography or new to smartphones, discover techniques for getting great nature images with your phone at The Morton Arboretum. Saturday, October 13 or December 8, 2018, 9:00 a.m. to noon.
  • Discover the world of fiber arts! Learn the basics of working with natural fibers and create a pair of woodland creatures, including a gnome or a hedgehog. Or, tap into the holiday spirit and craft a Santa Claus and elf at The Morton Arboretum. Saturday, December 8, 2018, 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • Add artistry to your nature photography with creative effects at The Morton Arboretum. Saturday, December 1, 2018, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • Learn the basics of how to use your new DSLR camera at The Morton Arboretum. Coming in winter 2019.
