Adult Summer Camp

Are you looking for a fun project to create while your children are in summer camp at The Morton Arboretum. Multiple section. Dates vary starting August 3.

Introduction to Nature Photography

Gain an appreciation for the camera's technology and learn the basics of field notes, exposure, composition, and characteristics of light through classroom instruction, hands-on demonstrations, practice in the field, and constructive critiques at The Morton Arboretum. 3 Thursdays, August 13-27, 2015, 7:00-9:30 p.m., and 2 Saturdays, August 15-22, 2015, 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Introduction to Smartphone Photography

This class will cover the best ways to use your smartphone to capture attractive images, and recommend a selection of good starter apps for some basic post-processing of your photos at The Morton Arboretum. Saturday, September 12, 2015, 1:00-4:00 p.m.

Out of the Box: You and Your New Camera

Learn the basics of how to use your new camera at The Morton Arboretum. Saturday, September 12, 2015, 8:00-11:00 a.m. or Tuesday, September 15, 2015, 6:30-9:30 p.m.

Basic Nature Photography

This course is designed for the beginning nature photographer to become confident and focused. 2 Thursdays, September 17-24, 2015, 6:30-9:30 p.m. and Saturday, September 19, 2015, 8:00-11:00 a.m.

Composition in Nature

Learn to capture the "physicality" of a scene - its shapes, textures, and forms - through composition, which is a cornerstone of photography at the Morton Arboretum. Friday, September. 18, 6:30–9:30 p.m., and Saturday, September 19-Sunday, September 20, 2015, 8:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

Local Flora: Fall

Learn the names and characteristics of native and introduced plants flowering in the woodlands, prairies, wetlands, and other areas of the Arboretum during this program. 4 Saturdays, September 19-October 10, 2015, 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Developing Creative Images

Learn how to create a more powerful image by creating diptychs, a composition consisting of two images at The Morton Arboretum. 3 Saturdays, September 19-October 3, 2015, 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Tree ID and Ecology

Learn to identify the trees you see every day in the woodlands and neighborhoods of the Chicago region as you enjoy their brilliant fall colors at The Morton Arboretum. 4 Saturdays, September 26-October 17, 2015, 1:00 –5:00 p.m.
