Family Summer Camp

Have you ever wondered what summer camp is like at The Morton Arboretum? Saturday, July 19 or Sunday, August 3, 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.

Chinese Lacebark Elm

These easy-to-grow, well-formed trees result in high quality bonsai in a short amount of time. Students will employ the root over rock style of bonsai. For this style, the roots of the tree are wrapped around a rock exposing them at varying degrees as they traverse and grow over the rock, descending into the soil below. All levels welcome. Japanese Black Pine Master Workshop

Work with Walter Pall and Jim Doyle, two of the world’s foremost bonsai artists, on this exceptional specimen material. The 9-10 inch base, or nebari, of this tree will create a specimen tree for any collection. Intermediate to Advanced levels. Sunday, August 3, 9:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

Fukien Tea

This beautiful, fast-growing, tropical plant displays pretty whit e flowers in summer that are followed by reddish-orange berries. The plant is very suitable for indoor growing. All levels welcome. Sunday, August 3, 1:00-3:30 p.m.
