Science Camp, Trees and Ecology

Rock out with an in-depth study of glaciers, soils, fossils, and rocks at The Morton Arboretum. Monday through Friday, June 12 through 16, 2017, 9:00 a.m. to noon, or July 24 through 28, 2017, 9:00 a.m. to noon or 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.
New! Explore nature through the eyes of a scientist. Catapult seeds, make sun prints, and experiment with leaves as you use the outdoors as your laboratory! Monday through Friday, June 12 through 16, July 10 through 14, or July 24 through August 4, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Become a mini Monet! Explore the Arboretum for artistic inspiration and use impressionist techniques to create a masterpiece. Monday through Friday, June 26 through 30 or July 24 through August 4, 2017, 9:00 a.m. to noon, or July 10 through 14, 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Design and build forts inspired by trees. Study trees up close and uncover their unique characteristics. Build a mini tree fort village as a group. Each child takes home their own mini tree fort. Monday through Friday, June 12 through 16; June 19 through 23; July 10 through 14; or July 24 through 28, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Spend the week getting wet! Wallow through wetlands to collect water samples, play games, and conduct experiments. Examine critters that call ponds, lakes, rivers, and marshes home at The Morton Arboretum. Monday through Friday, June 12 through 16, June 26 through 30, or July 31 through August 4, 2017, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Walk in the wild parts of the Arboretum and explore nature. Discover the differences between bees and wasps, go bird watching, and hunt for animal footprints. Monday through Friday, June 5 through 9, 2017, 12:30 to 3:30 p.m., or June 19 through 23, July 10 through 14, or August 7 through 11, 2017, 9:00 a.m. to noon
What can you accomplish when you take on an eco-challenge? Build your leadership skills as you take on team building and STEM challenges in this camp, while exploring the natural world at The Morton Arboretum. Monday through Friday, July 17 through 21 or July 31 through August 4, 2017,9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
New! Do you think you can paint with a beak, sculpt with a paw, or draw with a claw? Find out how Arboretum animals are adapted to life in the woods, ponds, and prairies and embrace various artistic media to capture these unique animal features. Monday through Friday, June 12 through 16 or July 17 through 21, 2017, 12:30 to 3:30 p.m., or June 26 through 30 or July 31 through August 4, 2017, 9:00 a.m. to noon
Are fairies hidden in the forest? Discover woodland plants and animals. Create your own fairy and, as a group, build a fairy village at The Morton Arboretum. Monday through Friday June 5 through 9, June 19 through 23, or July 31 through August 4, 2017, 9:00 a.m. to noon
Make your own fishing pole and let’s go fishing. Enjoy stories, games, and fishing trips to the Arboretum’s best spots. Monday through Friday, June 12 through 16; July 10 through 14; or July 24 through 28, 2017, 9:00 a.m. to noon; or July 31 through August 4, 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.
