In most cases, Arboretum general admission is included with your class registration. If you do need to purchase admission separately, this will be noted on the course webpage.

Classes are held rain or shine. If inclement weather or other environmental factors result in a change to the plans for your class, you will receive an email update from education@mortonarb.org or the program instructor. View the full weather and cancellation policy.

For most adult, youth, and family programs, you may cancel your registration up to five business days before the date of the first class and receive a refund for the cost of registration. Cancellations requested fewer than five business days before the first class date will not be refunded. Refunds of $25 or more are subject to a $5 processing charge.

Yes. The Arboretum partners with the Associated Colleges of the Chicago Area (ACCA) to offer cooperative college courses in botany and environmental science for students from ACCA schools. Learn more about the Arboretum’s cooperative college courses and view current ACCA offerings.

Yes. The Arboretum currently offers a Natural Areas Conservation Training (N-ACT) Program that provides certification in natural areas restoration.

We also partner with the Chicago Wilderness Alliance and other local organizations to offer Midwest Ecological Prescription Burn Crew Member Training several times each year. This two-day training prepares participants to serve as a crew member on a prescribed burn for many organizations within the Chicago Wilderness Alliance. The course covers the basics of topics such as fire behavior, controlled burn techniques, and smoke management.
