Autumn Textures with Graphite and Colored Pencil: Visiting Artist Series

Julie Sutter-Blair received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her award winning artwork can be found in numerous art exhibits throughout the Midwest. She has been invited to jury top-ranked Art Festivals, has been artist in residence in schools and has taught previous workshops at The Morton Arboretum.. Spend winter afternoons learning about the history and uses of botanical and scientific art from early herbals to old masters at The Morton Arboretum. 2 Saturdays, January 10 and 17, 1:00-4:00 p.m.

Silverpoint Workshop-Canceled

Learn the historic technique of silverpoint, drawing with silver on a prepared ground. We will work with autumn leaves to create a simple composition at The Morton Arboretum. 2 Saturdays, October 18-25, 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

Beginner’s Watercolor Workshop: Getting Your Feet Wet with Watercolor

Spend a morning learning the basics of watercolor and create a watercolor painting of an autumn leaf. End the class with a stroll through the Nature Artists’ Guild Holiday Exhibit at The Morton Arboretum. Saturday, November 8 or Sunday November 9, 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

Mosaic Pumpkins for Fall

Art Portfolio Review

Please register for the portfolio review if you have completed your requirements to graduate from the Botanical Art & Illustration Certificate or the Master’s Studio Certificate at the Morton Arboretum. Monday-Friday, October 6-10, 9:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.
