Children's Garden

Childrens GardenExplore the Wonders of Nature in a Backyard and Beyond

The Children's Garden is a 4-acre wonderland that engages children and families in learning about nature through outdoor play. Visitors of all ages will enjoy year-round activities and programs that present seasonal highlights in the garden. Step inside for discovery, wonder, and fun!

Children's Garden Hours

9:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m., March-October
9:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m., November-February
May through September, enjoy extended hours to 6 p.m. on Thursday evenings

Severe weather may close the Children's Garden temporarily.

The Children's Garden will be closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve at 3 p.m., and Christmas Day.

Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult while visiting the Children's Garden.

The Children's Garden is free with Arboretum admission and open every day except Thanksgiving and Christmas.

TADPOLES
The tadpoles we get each spring in the Children's Garden are American Toads. This is a natural occurrence and their arrival depends on the temperature of the water.
