September (1:00 p.m.*) Performance: The Complete History of America (abridged)
Dates: September 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, 24
The Complete History of America (abridged), is for anyone with a sense of humor. Another masterpiece created by Adam Long who brought us The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged). This piece begins with our ancient ancestors crossing the Bering Strait and finishes with an appearance of Barack Obama. As with their other works, this piece incorporates audience participation, physical jokes and intellectual humor for an entertaining afternoon that will make your cheeks hurt from laughter.
*This production includes some crude humor and is not intended for young audiences.
October (3:00 p.m.*) Performance: Nightfall With Edgar Allan Poe
Dates: October 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22, 28, 29
Celebrate the season with Nightfall With Edgar Allan Poe, the four tales that Poe himself thought were his most spooky; The Raven, The Fall of the House of Usher, The Pit and the Pendulum, and The Tell-Tale Heart. Edgar Allan Poe is the lead character through each tale, sometimes observing, but mostly experiencing these horrors along with you, our audience.
*Fall weekends are popular days for visitation. Please allow up to 45 minutes to park and get to where the hike commences (Thornhill Shelter, Parking Lot 21).
Each month Theatre-Hikes® offers a Low Impact Hike. Low Impact hikes are designed for guests with lower mobility; the hike covers a much shorter distance, and tries to stay near paved paths wherever possible. This year's dates are August 13, September 17, and October 15.
Each month The Morton Arboretum and Theatre-Hikes® will feature an American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation performance. This year's dates are August 19, September 23, October 21.
