Mud Kitchen - Parking Lot 20

Word Garden - Parking Lot 13

We've added two nature play spaces to our grounds; a Mud Kitchen and a Word Garden!   Our nature play spaces are designed for creative, unstructured, outdoor play.  These spaces are great spots to play games, tell stories, and make your own set of rules.

Mud Kitchen
Pat-a-cake, pat-a-cake,
Bake something grand.
Dig a little; dream a lot.
Get as dirty as you can!

This mud kitchen features tree stump stove, pots, pans, and a shelving unit inside the cabin. A pit of dirt is paired with assorted digging tools. Tree stump table and chairs wait outside the cabin.  Depending on the weather, children (and adults!) can make mud pies, dirt cakes, or snow cones if you visit in the winter.

Word Garden
Turn over all these stones and find
Letters, numbers---more!
Create a game, invent a word
Have fun on nature's floor!

The Word Garden features rocks painted with words, letters, and pictures.  Nature is inspirational; express yourself in this quiet, creative nook!
