Gather in the Children’s Garden amphitheater for story time and fun.

Weekdays

Test your skills in a bug-tastic board game, and make a ladybug mask.

 

Mantis Mania

Weekends
11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Discover the unique world of the praying mantis, and make a camouflage creation.

 

Incredible Insects

Bugs can be gross, weird, and very cool! Get an up close look at giant Madagascan hissing cockroaches and tarantulas, then design a bug of your own to take home!

Mud Mosaics– Dirty hands

Just what we’re looking for.  Join us for some fun with mud.  We will be using mud and other natural items to make mud mosaics.

Who’s living down in the mud?  Discover what types of creatures live underground and all about the special characteristics they possess.

Some people think they’re scary, but we think they’re spectacular!  Find out where spiders live and how they help our gardens.  We’ll even have some spider specimens to look at.

Trick or Trees

Play tricky games, fashion fun fall crafts, and plant a tree seed to take home as your treat.  Small pumpkins to paint will also be available for purchase.  

 

Spider City

Saturday, October 10 and Sunday, October 11
11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Join us in the Children's Garden as Brian Moskalik Ph.D. Assistant Professor of Zoology at the University of St. Francis takes us into the world of miniature predators.  View local spiders, praying mantises, and even exotic tarantulas!  Discover why these creatures are important and make a spider craft to take home!
