Turtle Time

Daily
11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Do all turtles look the same? Do they all live in water? Come to the Children's Garden and find out for yourself. We will play games and even look at a real turtle!

Reptiles Rule

Fluttering about, these beautiful butterflies are constantly on the move.  Discover some fascinating facts about butterflies and make a monarch mask to take home.

Splendid Spiders

Some people think they’re scary, but we think they’re spectacular!  Find out where spiders live and how they help our gardens.  We’ll even have some spider specimens to look at.

Trick or Trees

Play tricky games, fashion fun fall crafts, and plant a tree seed to take home as your treat.  Small pumpkins to paint will also be available for purchase.  

 

Spider City

Saturday, October 10 and Sunday, October 11
11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Join us in the Children's Garden as Brian Moskalik Ph.D. Assistant Professor of Zoology at the University of St. Francis takes us into the world of miniature predators.  View local spiders, praying mantises, and even exotic tarantulas!  Discover why these creatures are important and make a spider craft to take home!

Winter Play

11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Join us in the Children's Garden for winter time fun!  We'll set out activities to complement the day.   Activity may include painting snow or building a fort.  Whatever it may be, you'll find all the tools you need to have some frosty fun. 

 

Gnome Hunt

Daily
9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The animals may be hibernating, but we still have gnomes.  Can you find all of the gnomes hiding in the children's garden?

 

Gnome Homes

Weekends
11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
After taking a hike through the Children’s Garden to hunt for all of the hiding gnomes, create a keepsake, light-up gnome home of your own. This unique winter experience is fun for a pair or the whole family! Limited availability, purchase tickets in the Visitor Center.
