The Morton Arboretum will again host the world-renowned Chicago Symphony Orchestra  for a series of concerts this summer. Last year's concerts attracted thousands of music lovers for the rare treat of enjoying symphonic music amid the magnificent trees of the Arboretum.

Hollywood Heroes and Superheroes
Richard Kaufman, conductor 

The valiant Richard Kaufman leads the fearless Chicago Symphony Orchestra in a concert of Hollywood's most epic and heroic film scores, including selections from Austin PowersSpider ManStar Wars, Superman, James Bond films, and more. Don't miss this summer's blockbuster!

Igor Stravinsky: "Circus Polka"
Stravinsky: Suite from The Firebird 

Sergei Rachmaninov: Symphony No. 2

Rising-star conductor James Feddeck leads this evening of Russian masterpieces. The delightful "Circus Polka," written to accompany an elephant ballet, leads into Stravinsky's first ballet score, the dazzling Firebird. The concert ends with Rachmaninov's well-loved second symphony, brimming with gorgeous melodies.

Mikhail Glinka: Overture to Ruslan and Ludmila
Joseph Haydn: Trumpet Concerto
Hector Berlioz: Symphonie fantastique

Glinka's rousing overture to the opera Ruslan and Ludmila opens the program, followed by Haydn's masterful trumpet concerto performed by Principal Trumpet Christopher Martin. Berlioz' transendent and fantastical symphony, inspired by the anguish of unrequited love, brings the concert to a captivating close.


Plan your visit

Bring your blankets and lawn chairs. You are welcome to bring your own food, but we do not allow any outside alcoholic beverages to be brought into the Arboretum. 

 

Accessibility

Parking

Parking for vehicles bearing valid disability parking placards or license plates is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The Morton Arboretum has a very limited number of accessible parking spaces, be sure to bring your valid disability parking placard with you and have it in hand to show our parking attendants when you enter the Arboretum.

 

Mobility

The Morton Arboretum has a very limited number of non-motorized wheelchairs available for guest use. They are available free of charge, on a first-come, first-served basis in the Visitor Center and cannot be reserved in advance. Please consider bringing your own wheelchair or other mobility device if you, or somebody in your party, will need it as the quantity available on site is extremely limited.

Friday and Saturday concerts: $40

Parking: $10 per vehicle
