Members only: Friday, April 28, 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Saturday, April 29, 9:00 a.m. to noon
During member-only hours, each shopper must have a time-specific ticket, ordered in advance and free to members. Pre-ordering a ticket will guarantee your time slot.
Open to the public: Saturday, April 29, noon to 4:00 p.m., and Sunday, April 30, 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Nonmembers must pay Arboretum admission.)
New Location and Format!
The Arbor Day Plant sale at The Morton Arboretum is one of the largest seasonal plant sales in the Chicago region. It offers more than 100,000 plants, including hundreds of species and varieties of trees, shrubs, perennials, grasses, ferns, vegetables, and herbs.
Expert Plant Geniuses are available throughout the sale to answer questions, suggest plants, and help shoppers narrow their choices. Arboretum staff members will help transport plants to shoppers’ cars.
New Format: Timed Tickets
To improve the shopping experience, the Arbor Day Plant Sale has a new location and a different format this year.
For the member-only hours all day Friday and Saturday morning until noon, members must order a timed ticket in advance, starting Wednesday, March 1, at 10:00 a.m. Tickets will allow entrance at half-hour intervals through the member-only shopping hours. ORDER TICKETS
Free timed tickets for members will help control the number of shoppers at any time, improving parking, browsing, and checkout. LEARN MORE
Plants will be restocked all through the sale, so every shopper will be able to choose from a rich and varied assortment of plants expertly selected by Arboretum staff.
Early Access Hour
Can’t wait to shop? You can purchase a $20 ticket to be among the 225 shoppers who will have the sale to themselves during the Member Early Access Hour from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Friday. LEARN MORE
Order Tickets Early!
Choice time slots will go fast. Free timed tickets and $20 tickets for the Member Early Access Hour will be available for orders beginning Wednesday, March 1, at 10:00 a.m.
Purchases at the Arbor Day Plant Sale support the Arboretum’s work as the champion of trees, leading scientific research, conservation, education, and outreach about trees in our region, as well as the care of our 1,700-acre living laboratory.
On Saturday afternoon and Sunday, when the sale is open to the public, nonmembers must pay Arboretum admission.
