Summer Science Camp

SSC_2011_photo1Join us for eight fun-filled weeks of exploration and discovery at The Morton Arboretum's Summer Science Camp! Week-long science camps run from June 10–August 9, excluding the week of July 4.

Camps are available for ages 5 through 8th grade.

How to Register: 

To view and download a click-able schedule for convenient online registration, go to 2013 Summer Science Camp Schedule. Or, follow the steps below:

  1. Choose programs based on the grade your child will enter in the 2013-2014 school year.
  2. Choose your camp(s). Note the week and title of each camp.
  3. Register at mortonarb.org/education (24/7) or call 630-719-2468 (Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–4 p.m.)
  4. Fill out and return the required medical and permission forms two weeks prior to camp.


Required Camp Forms:
Forms may be filled in online, however, they must be printed out and signed, before mailing or faxing them to the Camp Coordinator. Please note: Medication use at camp requires additional forms (D or D, E and F) to be filled out and signed by the parent and  physician.

    A:  Health Info, Authorized Drivers and Emergency Contacts
    B:  Policies & Waiver of Liability
    C:  Parental Consent for Emergency Medical Treatment
    D:  Medication Authorization
    E:  Authorization to Possess, Self-Administer & Use Epipen or Inhaler
    F:  Consent for Emergency Treatment of Allergic Reactions

Counselor in Training (CIT)

For teens, 14-16 years old

CIT is a two-part program: CIT training camp AND mentored volunteer experience.

Spend one week in CIT Training Camp learning about The Arboretum, nature and trees, and child development. Learn how to develop and conduct successful nature programs for kids! Then join Summer Science Camp Staff as a camp assistant, helping with camps for K-4th grades. Gain knowledge and skills by having an Arboretum educator as a mentor.
