Field production of landscape trees usually involves two distinct steps. Liners are often produced by growers with this specialty. Landscape tree nurseries plant these liners to produce trees ready for the landscape.

In Containers

Container production of trees involves a series of potting up steps. While individual nurseries may specialize in specific stages of the process, there is no single major transition similar to transplanting of bare root or container grown liners into the field.
